A Journey of Hondura’nce

Feel Good Friday

While on the hunt for traditional fabric “hecha en Honduras” (made in Honduras), traveler Emily was directed to the small town of La Esperanza high in the mountains of Honduras.  A journey of Hondura’nce began…

After loading up her family in a truck and making the trek to La Esperanza, they wandered in and out of shops asking where to find weavers who “hechan telas” (make fabric).

When she finally came across Artesanias Togopala…

Emily knew she found what she was looming for.

But the search didn’t end there. The weavers in the shop showed Emily the ins and outs of traditional weaving...

and invited her to shuffle through stacks of colorful yarn to decide upon her favorite colors…

and two weeks later, her custom woven Honduran fabric was ready.  After one final stop in the hands of the Taaluma team, Emily’s fabric has been made into a line of totes of her own...

Here’s to Hondur’ing the journey and to feeling good—because after all, it's Friday!
