A Kenyan Khanga that Celebrates "A Mother's Love"

Feel Good Friday

As a mother by heart and traveler by spirit, Traveler Karla spent a month in Kenya visiting her son who moved there and exploring the country he calls home.

"The fabrics of Kenya are so beautiful and steeped deeply in tradition. The Khanga fabric is seen everywhere. It is made in panels with a very bright distinct border. There is always a saying written along the border of the fabric. It is generally a statement of goodwill or encouragement. The Khanga fabric that I purchased said “A mother’s love is everlasting.” —Traveler Karla

She wanted to take a mom’ent to celebrate her fellow mommas around the world…

With this “Upendo wa mama nima nilele” or “a Mother’s love is everlasting” fabric.

Here’s to celebrating this mom'umental love and to feeling good—because after all, it’s Friday!

PS. Plus a few more fabric finds to keep this mom'entum going!

The stories and pictures that Tim shared with us were INCREDIBLE..and they reminded us of our favorite things to do while traveling.
