Jamuhuri's story
Jamhuri lives in the Kongowea area, north of Mombasa, Kenya. He is 31 years old and he sells charcoal in the local market. He has been in the business for one year now, and the business is growing. He is a married man with three children to take care of. Two of his children are in school.
He knew of Milango through friends, and now he seeks a loan to buy 17 bags of charcoal for sale in the business. The challenges that he faces in the business are high competition and high costs for transportation. He hopes that his business grows and that he will be able to reach a larger number of customers in the next five years.
He will use the income that he will raise to improve his standard of living.
