Peace & Quiet

Peace & Quiet

“Siem Reap, Cambodia is one of my most favorite destinations. The history (both ancient and modern) of the country is absolutely fascinating. I am a veteran of the awe inspiring and massive Angkor Wat temple complexes...many times over, because it never gets boring.

There is always something new to explore in Siem Reap. This visit we decided we should wander far off the beaten track and go to a smaller, more obscure temple that is not well known.

I was amazed how few people were there, it was like we had the temple all to ourselves. This rare dose of quietude really allowed us to feel the heart and soul of the ethos behind the carvings.

I bought this fabric in the Siem Reap semi-outdoor fabric market which is like walking into a time machine where ladies sew on 1950's Singer push sewing machines and almost all transactions are analog.

This fabric very faithfully represents a common carving motif we saw in the temple complex.” - Aaron John
