The dumpling is gnocchi your average food. Cultures all over the world have captured the essence of this pocket-of-dough and have turned it into their own. And its presence gyoza long way from there…From Italian ravioli to Nepalese momo and Nigerian dan wake, the dumpling has become not just a side dish but the full manti. Once they're a bowl of chicken and dumplings deep, people far and wide are left wonton more.
Gungor, a mother of three, has been filling this desire throughout her town in Turkey. She has a small business making manti, a Turkish dumpling, and is using her microloan of $150 to invest in wholesale flour, oil and other ingredients to expand her business.
As dumpling fans ourselves, we felt it was our pierogi’tive to help Güngör fill that void too. So we have brought samoa Turkish fabric to the Taaluma collection to fund microloans for Güngör and more small Turkish businesses like hers.
Here’s to this full manti and to feeling good—because after all, it's Friday!

It’s Feel Good Friday and we got some good news for ya! So which do you want first… the good news… or more good news?
Good news: We’re so excited to announce that we’ve been given the green light to start making totes again! (Back in April, we were deemed non-essential so we had to stop tote production due to the Governor’s COVID orders).
More good news: For the past 3 months, we turned our attention to making face masks for our customers and donating face masks to hospital workers (don't worry, we didn’t go into hibernation mode. If anything, we got busier producing all these face masks).
Tis the sea-sun as summer is officially here! We’re feeling pretty shore that it’s going to be a great summer! Here’s to shell-abrating good times with great people..
